In her role as a Patient Financial Services Representative II in an emergency room, Ulanda has gained valuable firsthand insight into patient care, empathy, and effective communication. She credits her ability to manage the demands of work, school, and motherhood to strong time management, a deep trust in God’s guidance, and a dedicated support system.

Her passion for healthcare deepened during a personal mental health crisis that led to hospitalization. Through faith, therapy, and the unwavering love of her family and friends, she emerged stronger, further fueling her desire to advocate for mental health awareness and compassionate care. Ulanda now plans to specialize in a critical care field, advance her education, and mentor the next generation of healthcare professionals.

The Next Generation Healers Scholarship will be awarded each academic term to outstanding students pursuing careers in healthcare, mental health, or addiction care, with a demonstrated commitment to improving their communities.
