How We Treat

Treatments at our facility are evidence-based and designed with each patient's specific needs in mind. Our team of graduate-level trained, licensed therapists and medical doctors work together to create a plan for recovery for each patient.

The therapies we offer include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. We have individual, group and family programs, as well as supplement programs that go beyond what's offered in traditional therapy.

Specialty & Supplemental Programs

Among the specialty programs we offer are art therapy and equine therapy for mental health. During art therapy, patients have the opportunity to paint, draw or otherwise use their creativity to channel their emotions and express themselves. In equine therapy, patients work directly with horses, who provide a calming presence.

Some patients come to us needing full medical detox and residential treatment. Others benefit from partial hospitalization or telehealth services. The levels of care we provide ensure that each person's needs are adequately met.

Medically Monitored Detox

During medically monitored detox, a patient is supervised by a doctor as they withdraw from alcohol or another drug. The supervised detox program ensures a patient's safety and comfort, helping them get their recovery off on the right foot.

Residential Treatment

Residential treatment provides patients who need it the most with round-the-clock care and support. Patients live at our Palm Beach treatment center for the duration of their program.

Partial Hospitalization Program

For those who completed a residential program, but still need some support, or for those who would benefit from remaining at home during their treatment, our partial hospitalization program provides the best option. Patients receive therapy and other treatment during the day, but return home at night.

Mental Health Program

Whether inpatient or outpatient, our mental health program works with patients who have a mental health diagnosis or dual diagnosis, such as depression, schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. Telehealth therapy is also available.

Frequently Asked Questions

1How do treatment centers support the transition from inpatient to outpatient?
At Banyan Treatment Centers, we understand that recovery doesn’t end after inpatient treatment—it’s a lifelong journey. That’s why we provide a seamless transition from inpatient to outpatient care, ensuring each individual receives ongoing support tailored to their unique needs.

How Banyan Helps Bridge the Gap:

Personalized Aftercare Plans Once an individual completes inpatient treatment, we develop a customized aftercare plan designed to build on their progress and set realistic goals for outpatient care. This ensures continuity in their recovery journey.

Comprehensive Support System Through individual therapy, group counseling, and peer support, we help individuals manage cravings, process emotional triggers, and develop healthier coping mechanisms. Our evidence-based approaches provide the structured guidance needed for sustained success.

Flexible Treatment Options Banyan offers various levels of outpatient care, including Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and Outpatient Programs (OP). This allows for a gradual step-down approach, ensuring individuals receive the level of care that best suits their progress.

Skill-Building & Relapse Prevention Our life skills training, stress management workshops, and relapse prevention programs equip individuals with the necessary tools to navigate real-world challenges while maintaining their sobriety outside of inpatient care.

Ongoing Accountability & Check-Ins With regular follow-ups, telehealth options, and alumni support groups, we keep individuals connected to their recovery network. These check-ins provide encouragement, address potential setbacks, and reinforce long-term sobriety.

At Banyan Treatment Centers, we are committed to guiding individuals every step of the way, empowering them to transition successfully from structured inpatient care to independent, healthy living.
2What is the difference between inpatient and outpatient treatment?
When considering treatment options for substance use or addiction, it's crucial to differentiate between inpatient and outpatient programs, each offering distinct structures and benefits.

Inpatient Treatment Programs

- Residential Stay: Patients reside at the treatment facility, allowing for 24/7 access to care.
- Continuous Supervision: Around-the-clock medical and therapeutic support helps manage withdrawal symptoms and prevent relapse.
- Structured Environment: Highly structured schedules with various therapy sessions and activities aimed at recovery.

Inpatient care is ideal for individuals needing comprehensive support in a controlled environment, particularly those with severe addiction cases.

Outpatient Treatment Programs

Flexibility: Patients live at home and attend scheduled treatment sessions, allowing them to maintain work, family, or school commitments.
Varied Levels of Care:

- Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs): Provide a higher level of care with frequent therapy sessions, yet not as intensive as inpatient care.
- Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHPs): Offer more extensive supervision compared to IOPs, often including multiple hours of therapy per day, several days a week.

Outpatient programs cater to those who require treatment while balancing daily responsibilities, offering substantial flexibility and autonomy.
Aftercare Options After initial treatment, aftercare programs can support ongoing recovery. These may be structured as either inpatient or outpatient, based on individual needs and recovery goals. This stage focuses on maintaining sobriety and preventing relapse through continued support.

Choosing between inpatient and outpatient programs depends on the severity of the addiction, personal circumstances, and specific recovery objectives. Each plays a vital role in the journey towards long-lasting recovery.
3How long do rehab programs typically last?
Rehab programs can vary significantly in duration, tailored to meet the unique needs of each person seeking help. Generally, short-term treatment lasts for less than 30 days. These programs offer intensive support in a condensed timeframe, ideal for those needing a quick but effective intervention.

On the other hand, long-term rehab stretches from 60 to 90 days or even beyond. Such extended programs are designed for individuals requiring more comprehensive care, addressing deeper-rooted issues or co-occurring disorders.

Factors Influencing Duration:

Individual Needs and Goals: Personal recovery objectives and the severity of one's condition play pivotal roles in determining the program length.

Treatment Program Structure: Different rehab facilities offer varying frameworks. Some are more flexible and customizable, while others follow a strict regimen that dictates the timeframe.

Progress and Response to Treatment: As each person progresses differently, some may extend their stay to ensure a solid recovery foundation, while others might transition to outpatient care sooner.

Before selecting a program, consider these factors carefully to ensure the duration aligns with personal recovery needs.
4Is treatment at Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches covered by insurance?
Your insurance provider may offer coverage for your treatment. Before admission, we verify your insurance coverage and let you know what is covered and what your out-of-pocket costs will be.
5How long does residential treatment last?
The length of residential treatment varies from patient to patient. Your treatment may be complete in 30 days, or you may need more time and support.
