Juan R. Garcia, LCSW
Executive Clinical Director
Juan Garcia serves as the Clinical Executive Director at Banyan Stuart. Born in Mexico City and raised in Guanajuato till age 8, Juan moved to Florida in 1993. He graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Master of Social Work in May 2009. In 2007, Juan began his career at the High/Maximum Risk Okeechobee Juvenile Offender Correction Facility. Juan’s position focused on Mental Health Counseling and Substance Abuse Treatment for adolescents and young adult male delinquents who were committed to the correctional setting for rehabilitation.
Juan joined the Banyan Team in 2019 as a Residential Clinical Supervisor and was promoted to the Clinical Director role in 2020, overseeing the entire clinical team at our Stuart location. Juan’s favorite part of his job is being able to guide a team that is truly making a difference in people’s lives. Juan began working in this field because of his desire to help others. He wanted to have a direct impact on the lives of those suffering from addiction and mental health disorders and has found that at Banyan. His goal is to continue helping others in their journey to recovery by ensuring quality care.
Director of Operations
Jessica always had a passion for helping others, and she earned a BA in Psychology from Chestnut Hill College to pursue that dream. After graduating, she relocated to Florida where she began work as a youth care worker a juvenile residential facility for intensive mental health teenage girls. This population allowed Jessica to work with several stages of addiction and mental health issues. Her passions and interests continued to grow as she became a case manager, trainer, and finished her time there as the Director of Case Management. During that period, Jessica returned to school to further pursue her ability to help others and obtained her Master’s in Human Service Counseling from Liberty University.
Ebony Perkins was born and raised in New Jersey and relocated to Florida 15 years ago. Ebony comes from a long line of family members who suffered from the disease of addiction and unfortunately were unable to escape the grips of the disease. As a Therapist, Ebony has a unique perspective that she brings to the table; that being the impact of addiction on the family. Ebony has earned a BS in Human Services: Addictions Studies.
Ebony has made a commitment to put 100% of her effort into changing lives so that her loved ones suffering will not have been in vein. She aspires to become a LCSW and plans to start a graduate program in the coming year.
Lauren Roberts currently serves as a therapist with over 25 years of experience. She received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Illinois University and remains a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Illinois. Lauren has diverse experience in both the mental health and substance abuse fields serving adolescents and adults. Lauren’s strengths include working within trauma-informed systems of care with specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). She aspires to continue her work with substance use disorders largely in part because of the belief she has that anyone can obtain recovery with honesty and hope.
Director of Nursing
Gloria is a nurse and a New York native who relocated to martin County in 2016. She has been a part of the Stuart nursing team since they opened their doors in 2016. She has been a nurse for over 10 years with experience in the surgery trauma field, burns, pediatrics and dermatology. Gloria is currently furthering her education to acquire her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her goal is to continue her growth within the Banyan company and to fulfill her passion in helping the needed community in their recovery process.During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her 13-year-old son Anthony and their family at the beach, the movies and traveling.
Alicia is the alumni coordinator for both Banyan Boca and Banyan Stuart. Her journey with Banyan started on April 20, 2018 as an overnight Behavioral Health Technician. Alicia quickly proved her worth and was shortly thereafter promoted to a Lead Technician for the weekends. Her experience in active addiction and in sobriety is what gave her a passion for this field. Today that passion has turned into using the tools she learned to helped others in our Alumni community.
Family Services Coordinator
Caleb was born in Louisville, Kentucky and played football at Lindsey Wilson College, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Communication. Like many others in America today, Caleb suffered an injury on the field that resulted in the use of prescription pain medication, which eventually led him down the dark road of addiction. He sought treatment at Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches, now a Banyan facility, more than four years ago and has been sober ever since. Caleb began his career at Banyan as an Admissions Coordinator and went on to receive several promotions within the organization. He now acts as a National Business Development Representative for the state of Kentucky, where he lives with his wife and son. Caleb is passionate about his position and being able to continue his career at Banyan in his home state, saying that he feels honored to be able to help those in his community who struggle with the same issues he once faced. He has made is his main goal to help anyone seeking treatment to get the help they need.
