The banyan tree is one of the most beautiful and iconic trees in the South Florida landscape, and it provides a great metaphor for what our community looks like here at Banyan. Without support of other trees, the banyan tree becomes exposed and weak, never reaching its full potential. However, with the help of the trees around it, the banyan tree can thrive for hundreds of years.
Community and collaboration are the core principles at Banyan Treatment Center and Detox. When we use the strength of those around us, we can grow stronger ourselves. At Banyan, we know that each individual has different struggles and every journey in recovery is unique. Therefore, the treatment plans we develop are tailored and customized for each specific situation. The therapeutic methods we employ at our addiction treatment center empower clients to make meaningful changes in their own lives, as well as the lives of those around them.
The Banyan Difference
We are a family of individuals that come from diverse backgrounds; however, addiction affects all of us in the same way. It devastates lives and families. We came together with a simple mission: to help people break free from the bonds of addiction. We are not a “one size fits all” program, and we have the experienced staff and infrastructure to offer individualized treatment plans to best meet the needs of each individual who comes through our doors. Part of what sets us apart from other programs is that we are able to offer all levels of care in a full treatment continuum. This enables us to treat each patient in the most appropriate setting based on their specific needs.
Our staff is comprised of doctors, nurses, master’s level therapists, and behavioral health technicians, and we are equipped to treat the many different forms of addiction and co-occurring disorders. Each of our facilities offer around-the-clock care and supervision, ensuring the safety and support of our patients at all times.
The Banyan Philosophy
Banyan’s clinical approach to treatment is to address our patients’ substance use disorder alongside any co-occurring mental health disorders and life issues in an integrative, multi-disciplinary fashion. Treatment planning is designed to meet all of our patients’ needs and is delivered as a team. Patients will interact with assessors, therapists, case managers, doctors/nurses, and other support staff to ensure that each of their needs are met in the most appropriate fashion. In conjunction with the 12 Step model (and alternatively SMART Recovery, in which all of our therapists are certified), our therapists utilize the following therapeutic approaches in their groups and 1:1 work with our patients: Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT), client-centered/humanistic interventions, empowerment counseling, and solution-focused counseling.
