Outpatient Programs at Banyan

Recovery from addiction will look different for everyone. Some people thrive in an intensive setting with 24-hour access to care, while others may require a less severe option. For those in need of comprehensive addiction treatment paired with personal flexibility, our outpatient program (OP) is focused on preventing relapse, and emphasis is placed on long-term recovery. It is an option offered at many of our Banyan rehab locations and serves as one of the last steps toward officially entering the world as a sober individual.

How Does Outpatient Rehab Work?

Outpatient rehabilitation is a form of addiction treatment where individuals receive therapy and support services while still living at home or in a recovery residence and maintaining their daily routines. The program is designed to help individuals recover from substance abuse or addiction without having to be admitted to a residential facility. In outpatient rehab, patients attend regular therapy sessions with licensed therapists, participate in support groups, and receive medication-assisted treatment when necessary.

The treatment plan for outpatient drug rehab is personalized to meet the unique needs of each patient. During the initial assessment, therapists evaluate the severity of the addiction and develop a plan of care that outlines the type and frequency of treatment needed. Patients typically attend therapy sessions one to three times a week, depending on their individual needs. Group therapy sessions may also be incorporated into the program to provide additional support and help patients learn from others' experiences.

Banyan Treatment Centers' Outpatient Program (OP) is provided in a comfortable, professional setting with a small patient-to-staff ratio. OP is a step down from IOP, with a minimum of 90 minutes of treatment per week. We are a holistic provider of psychiatric and medical care. This level of care is provided 5 days per week at flexible times to accommodate work and family schedules.

Therapies used during outpatient drug, alcohol, and mental health treatment:

Outpatient rehab is often a more affordable and flexible option for individuals who cannot take time off work or have other responsibilities to attend to. It allows patients to continue with their daily routines while receiving the necessary treatment for addiction. Patients can also access support services outside of therapy sessions, including online support groups, our telehealth services, and hotlines. Overall, outpatient rehab provides individuals with the necessary tools and support to overcome addiction and live a fulfilling life in recovery.

What Is Outpatient Mental Health Treatment?

Outpatient mental health treatment encompasses therapy and support services provided to individuals who don't require constant residential care. These services range from weekly therapy sessions to more structured programs like Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP).

At Banyan Treatment Centers, we recognize the significance of mental health and are dedicated to delivering top-tier outpatient services. With our seasoned professionals and cutting-edge facilities, we're committed to aiding individuals on their path to recovery and overall well-being. Our outpatient mental health treatment caters to individuals with manageable mental health conditions who can maintain their daily routines and are not at risk of harming themselves or others.

Key features of mental health outpatient programs include:

  • Appointment-Based: Appointments are usually used to schedule outpatient care. At predetermined times, people see mental health providers for medication management, therapy sessions, and other interventions.
  • Flexibility: People can receive mental health treatment while continuing with their regular activities, such as going to work or school, thanks to outpatient treatment. For those who come from supportive homes, this may be advantageous.
  • Diverse Services: A variety of services, such as medication management, psychoeducation, family therapy, group therapy, and individual therapy, can be included in outpatient mental health treatment.
  • Less Restrictive: Outpatient treatment is less constrictive than inpatient care. When receiving therapy and other interventions, people have greater independence and self-determination.
  • Continuity of Care: Treatment continuity is encouraged by outpatient care. People can receive long-term treatment from the same mental health providers, developing a therapeutic alliance that enhances their overall health.

Our outpatient services are particularly beneficial for those dealing with moderate to severe mental health issues, including:

  • Anxiety
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Depression & Major Depressive Disorder
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Adjustment & Attachment Disorder
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Self-Injury & Self-Harming Behaviors
  • Trauma-related disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

Our Outpatient Veterans & Military Program

Recovery from addiction and mental illness takes time after detox and other more intensive levels of care are completed - this is where outpatient treatment comes in. For people who struggle with addiction or mental health problems, our military and veterans' outpatient clinics offer flexibility during treatment.

The primary goal of our outpatient program is to establish self-efficacy and independence, which has been shown to reduce the risk of relapse in recovery. Our Military and Veterans outpatient program offers the benefits and accountability of privacy and self-regulation while encouraging individuals to be responsible for their daily lives and recovery. Our nationwide veterans' addiction treatment centers provide various forms of outpatient care preparing clients to transition back to their lives outside of rehab.

What Happens After the OP Program?

Support goes a long way in preventing relapse, which is why we emphasize personal relationships. Addiction not only affects the individual but also significantly impacts their loved ones. Our outpatient treatment program highlights effective ways to improve communication with peers and family members, aiming to build and shape an independent lifestyle while maintaining sobriety in an everyday setting.

Recovery doesn’t stop here. Once you have successfully completed our outpatient addiction treatment program, you are welcomed into our alumni program.
