A Top Facility for Residential Drug Treatment in Illinois
Those in search of residential drug and alcohol treatment in Gilman will be impressed with our resources. Our Heartland rehab center focuses on individualized treatment programs to address all of our patients’ needs while also helping them feel as comfortable as possible during the recovery process. With 36 beds, we’re able to provide an ideal staff-to-patient ratio, so that we can ensure that each patient gets the treatment they need to have a successful long-term recovery.
Medically Monitored Detox Programs
Before beginning residential, PHP, or IOP treatment, patients must first undergo the detox process. Our medically monitored detox services in Illinois help patients safely detox from the harmful substances they are addicted to. Detoxing is a difficult juncture in treatment, but medical detox involves 24-hour supervision to ensure that patients complete the detox process safely.
Off-Site Partner Programs
In addition to our residential and medical detox programs, we offer off-site solutions for drug and alcohol treatment in Illinois. This includes off-site partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. Each program provides unique solutions that allow patients to meet daily responsibilities outside of the rehab setting while still receiving necessary treatment. While patients are receiving our off-site drug and alcohol treatment in Illinois, many will also continue working.

Banyan Heartland Team
Nicole Bower was born in Houston and raised in Bastrop, Texas. She graduated in 2000 from Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Psychology and got her MBA in healthcare management in 2008.
She began working with people receiving mental health and substance abuse treatment in 2000. It was at the age of 13 that Nicole first discovered her passion; to help those who struggle with mental health and addiction. Her desire intensified as she grew older, witnessing firsthand the struggles of addiction in her close family members.
Nicole is an important asset to the Banyan team. As the Executive Director of Banyan Treatment Centers, she gets the opportunity to define and develop a system that fosters the lives of clients in addiction treatment.
Nicole promotes a collaborative culture in Banyan, which creates successful outcomes for clients. “Every human being deserves compassion, dignity, and respect… and it is our responsibility to ensure every person has the tools needed to be successful!”
Rachel Truelove, LCSW, LCDC
Born and raised in Texas, Rachel graduated from Texas State University with a BA degree in Mass Communication and Journalism and an MA in Social Work. She is both a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Her career path to help others on their sobriety journey was fueled from her own long-term recovery and personal experiences. Rachel started working in residential treatment in 2010 as a direct care staff and then onto holding various roles of tech, counselor, intake, admissions manager, and clinical director. Rachel brings her experience, compassion, and methods of best-practice therapeutic interventions to the Banyan Texas team.
Director of Nursing
Jamie Thompson was born and raised in Bastrop, Texas. She attended Southern Career Institute for her Medical Assistant Certificate in 2002 and 2015, and went on to National American University, where she graduated with honors on the President’s List and Summa Cum Laude. Jamie also received her license for Vocational Nursing. Jamie got her start in the addiction field when she was working in a county jail for over 6 years. In the last 3 years, she was the Director of Nursing at an exclusive male rehab facility.
Jamie is not in recovery; however, her life has been touched in so many ways by recovery. Her cousin and best friend overdosed in 2008 on opiates and it changed her world. After that tragedy and working in law enforcement, she really saw how challenging the world of addiction can be.
Jamie enjoys being of service to people in recovery, providing encouragement and love, and showing them that people care and are invested in them. She loves to be a part of their recovery journey. Her favorite part of being the Director of Nursing at Banyan is supporting her team and advocating for her nursing staff and the clients. She loves creating a therapeutic environment for the staff and supporting them in creating the same for the clients.
Jamie’s goal for her career at Banyan is to create an atmosphere of acceptance, encouragement and longevity amongst the staff. She wants to plant the seed and grow along with the other staff members to have the best working environment possible.
Family Services Coordinator
Born and raised in Palm Springs, Jamie has been working in the medical field for over 30 years. Recovery became, and has remained, a passion of Jamie’s, as a result of the effects her mother’s addiction, and later, the addiction struggles of two of her three children had on her. For the past 11 years, she has redirected her medical knowledge and expertise to the field of addiction and recovery. Jamie started her career at Banyan Treatment Centers as a phlebotomist. However, as the management team recognized her varied skill-set, Jamie’s services began to be requested in Intake, Clinical, Administration, and Family Services. As part of her role with Family Services, Jamie runs a weekly Banyan Family Zoom Call, with her oldest daughter, which is designed to give the families of our clients a safe place to talk, vent, and help others going through similar situations. She found that being in contact with the families directly is where her heart is. Jamie is deeply passionate about helping our clients and their families. She understands how difficult the journey through the recovery process can be and the courage required to take that journey. Jamie also understands the empathy and sensitivity required to guide those on their recovery journey. By combining her personal and professional experience, Jamie provides guidance and support to families here at Banyan as a Family Services Specialist.

I had a great experience at Banyan in Naperville the staff are awesome there and housing is good we can cook and eat whatever we want which is nice it helped me be accountable and clean up after myself they encourage us to go to meetings and provide a list of meetings and sponsors but don’t force anyone to go which is nice it’s a choice but if you want recovery you will get it no matter where you go you just have to be 100% done with the drugs or drinksMiles J.
