Intensive Outpatient Programs at Banyan Treatment Centers
Our Intensive Outpatient Program (also known as IOP) focuses on moving the external structure provided in PHP to an internal structure patients follow on their own. When patients step down to our Intensive Outpatient Program, we provide all of the same therapeutic services, in a more relaxed environment.
Patients are able to gain employment, volunteer, and attend recovery meetings in the community. Banyan Treatment Centers offers this level of care for anyone who is struggling with active addiction and needs help overcoming the vicious disease.
Maintaining Sobriety After Treatment
The Banyan Treatment Centers Intensive Outpatient Program is made to equip our patients with all the tools they need in their transition back into day-to-day life outside of treatment. In the first phase, patients attend 5 days of group therapy each week. Phase two of IOP occurs when a patient obtains employment, at which time patients can attend therapy a minimum of three days a week. Groups are held daily, in the morning or evenings for those that are employed. In IOP, our clinical program centers on integrating patients into a larger recovery community. The patients at Banyan Treatment Centers attend groups on relapse prevention and develop responsible behaviors and coping skills.
The Importance of IOP for Continued Recovery
Treatment removes the individual from all the temptations and triggers from society for a prolonged period and if a patient returns to their previous way of life immediately after treatment, they are at risk for relapse. An IOP is crucial to the transition back into daily life, by reinforcing all the therapies and ideas that inpatient or partial hospitalization treatment has taught them. At Banyan Treatment Centers, our Intensive Outpatient Program’s main goal is to help our patients live a sober, productive lifestyle after treatment. We successfully guide our patients through the challenging times that come with addiction.
Patients also work with their therapists individually on a weekly basis. While patients are not attending group therapy meetings, they are free to go to meetings of their choice and to seek employment or volunteer. IOP provides patients with a smooth transition from a treatment setting to continuing their journey of recovery and living a happy and sober life. Family members can rest assured that their loved ones are getting the drug and alcohol treatment they need in order to make a change.
