Intensive Outpatient Program

Intensive Outpatient Programs at Banyan Pompano

Banyan Treatment Center Pompano provides an Intensive Outpatient Program (also known as IOP) that is recommended to patients based on a preliminary treatment assessment. It’s important that the Intensive Outpatient Program requirements are understood, and we want to ensure that our patients can follow the Intensive Outpatient program schedule to increase the chances of success in recovery. Our Intensive Outpatient Program focuses on moving the external structure provided in Partial Hospitalization Programs to an internal structure that patients follow on their own. When patients transition from PHP to our Intensive Outpatient Program, we provide all the same therapeutic services, just for a little less time each day. Our intensive outpatient program in South Florida provides truly customized care and we are committed to fully treating our patients.

Maintaining Sobriety After Treatment

Our Intensive Outpatient Program schedule is designed to equip our patients with all the tools they need in transitioning back into day-to-day life outside of treatment. In the first phase, patients attend 5 days of group therapy each week. Phase two of IOP occurs when a patient obtains employment, at which time patients can attend a minimum of three days a week. Groups are held daily, in the morning and in evenings for those who are employed. IOP in our clinical program centers around integrating patients into a larger recovery community. Patients attend groups focused on relapse prevention, developing responsible behaviors, and coping skills. Every Intensive Outpatient Program lasts as long as it needs to ensure successful recovery for patients.

The Importance of IOP for Continued Recovery

Treatment removes the individual from all the temptations and triggers from society for a prolonged period and if a patient returns to their previous way of life immediately after treatment, they are at risk for relapse. An IOP is crucial to the transition back into daily life by still implementing all the therapies and ideas that treatment has taught them. At our drug and alcohol treatment center in Pompano, our Intensive Outpatient Program’s main goal is helping our patients live a sober and productive lifestyle after treatment.

Patients also work with their therapists individually on a weekly basis and while patients are not attending group, they are free to go to meetings of their choice and to seek employment or volunteer. We are located in Pompano Beach, FL, which is a great area in close proximity to the beach, malls, and restaurants. There are plenty of options for fun sober activities in the area. IOP provides patients with a smooth transition from a treatment setting to continuing their journey of recovery and living a happy sober life.
