There’s a new Hulu series set to premiere in 2021 called Dopesick in which Michael Keaton will be the executive producer and the star.
This 8-episode limited series, based off of the 2018 Beth Macy book titled: Dopesick: Dealers, Doctors, and the Drug Company that Addicted America, gives a “compelling look into the epicenter of America’s struggle with Opioid addiction”. Michael Keaton is set to play Samuel Finnix, who is a kind and compassionate doctor that finds himself involved in Big Pharma’s “deadly secret”.

Preventing an Opiate Addiction
A TV showed based on the story of the opioid crisis is a big deal as it can make the subject of drug use less taboo and could potentially aid in finding a solution and preventing an addiction from happening. Opioid overdose deaths in the U.S. have risen over the years at an alarming rate. Many people are blaming pharmaceutical companies for the opioid crisis, but there are plenty of factors at play.
Dopesick is important because it could be another resource available for those in need. We are so glad that Michael Keaton is starring in such an important Hulu series on drug addiction and we hope that it will not only be a learning opportunity for many, but to also aid in helping individuals seek help for their opioid addictions.
