Comedian John Mulaney enters rehab after his unfortunate relapse amid the coronavirus pandemic.
John Mulaney’s substance abuse began when he was only 13 years old. Throughout his career, he’s always been open about his struggles with substance abuse. He says, “I drank for attention. I was really outgoing and then at 12, I wasn’t. I didn’t know how to act. And then I was drinking, and I was hilarious again.” His drinking eventually led to drug use, in which he struggled with both prescription and illegal drugs. Mulaney’s addiction began to spiral out of control. He was even drinking perfume until he hit rock bottom and got sober at the age of 23. John chose not to seek treatment for substance abuse and decided to quit cold turkey.
