24-year-old actor and internet personality, Cameron Dallas took to Instagram on Friday, August 23rd to open up about his addiction struggles and how he recently went to rehab.
He says that he went to rehab to seek help in dealing with addiction and mental health issues like anxiety, depression, family trauma, etc.
In his video, Cameron proudly stated that he is 105 days sober! “Progress not perfection, this is something that means a lot to me and I’m so thankful for all the opportunities I’ve been given and then patience that has been graciously bestowed upon me by so so many people…”
The actor also apologized to those he has hurt and disrespected in the past. Back in December 2018, Cameron allegedly had a physical altercation between him and another male at a hotel in Aspen. He was charged with felony assault.

Breaking the Stigma
Dallas wants to change the stigma of rehab being viewed as a “bad” or “dirty” place. Cameron, we thank you for being so open about your addiction and your recovery journey. Speaking out about your struggles is one step in the right direction toward ending the stigma around addiction and mental health.
What Cameron went through sounds like a co-occurring disorder. Dual diagnosis (or co-occurring disorder) is when someone suffers from both substance abuse issues as well as mental health issues. People who are dealing with a dual diagnosis need co-occurring disorder treatment if they’re going to get and stay sober.
Here at Banyan Treatment Centers, we offer various programs and therapies to help people struggling with addiction and mental health issues as well as the negative effects addiction may have on a family.
