Stabilization Program for Addiction
Addiction recovery is a long road that comes with many ups and downs. Some days are better than others, and it is not unusual for recovering addicts to feel tested. Sobriety is a choice that someone needs to make each day, but when life gets tough, addiction cravings become overwhelming, or someone gets complacent about their sobriety, a drug or alcohol relapse may occur.
Trying to live in recovery and maintain sobriety is challenging. Although discouraging, for many people, relapse is a part of the recovery process. Sometimes mistakes are made, but it is how we react to and learn from these mistakes that matters. Although you may be feeling ashamed, embarrassed, or even angry, it is important not to let this relapse define you or ruin all of progress you have already made in your recovery journey. Instead of letting one slip-up snowball into addiction, now is the time to be active in your recovery, and our stabilization addiction treatment program in Chicago can help.
Recovery for Relapse at Banyan Chicago
Although relapse can be defeating, it shouldn’t mean the end of your sobriety. As providers of substance abuse treatment in Chicago, we understand that addiction cravings may never completely go away. While you can prepare for drug triggers in treatment and learn a variety of healthy coping techniques, the real world may have other plans.
A relapse only has to be a minor setback in your recovery. Our relapse recovery program works with people who have recently relapsed in order to help them get back on the right track. A full detox is usually not necessary. Most people who relapse need more support and to strengthen their recovery skills for relapse prevention. Our stabilization program for addiction consists of a shortened treatment program that is similar to our partial hospitalization program. Patients will participate in a variety of therapy programs during the day while returning to a recommended sober-living facility at night. This protective and safe environment allows patients to focus on their sobriety and reinforce what they originally learned in treatment but may have neglected when returning to their everyday lives.
Our addiction relapse program may include:
- Individual therapy
- Group therapy
- Relapse prevention education
- 12-Steps programming
- Cognitive behavioral therapy
- & More
These programs are meant to help patients face the source of their relapse as well as the drug triggers that lead to it. Once patients have a better understanding of what these are; they are given the tools needed to take on these situations outside of treatment to continue their recovery journey confidently. During our relapse stabilization program, we also work with the patient to determine the best aftercare plan possible so that another relapse does not occur.
Our stabilization addiction treatment program is provided to address the common mishaps that occur on the road to recovery. Relapse should be seen as a bump in the road; there is always hope to pick yourself up and continue your recovery efforts. If you or your loved one has recently experienced a drug relapse and is in need of stabilization, contact us today. We can help you get back on track.
