Selena Gomez Raising Money for Mental Health With Makeup Line

Selena Gomez Raising Money for Mental Health With Makeup Line

Selena Gomez recently launched her new makeup line, Rare Beauty last week and best of all, she is donating 1% of the proceeds toward mental health resources.

In a statement about her new company and its mission, Selena says, “The Rare Impact Fund will make a direct impact on many lives and, ultimately, make a difference in the world. I’m proud of the work we’ve begun to do with our partners to offer these services to anyone who needs support.” Gomez is planning on raising $100 million over the next 10 years for undeserved communities.

She continued to say, “Mental health is so connected to different things and I believe that there are a lot of people who may not understand that. Beyond giving access to so many different shades and colors, I want people to feel like they have a community to turn to and resources that are helpful to them.”

Selena Gomez’s Personal Struggle with Mental Health

Selena Gomez’s mental health has been an area of distress in her own life as she struggled with anxiety and depression in the past. Since getting help, she has been very open about these struggles and has become an inspiration to many. Talking about mental health also helps to reduce the stigma that surrounds it and mental health treatment. We are so happy that Selena Gomez is using her platform and her beauty brand to help communities get access to mental health resources.
