Is There a Vaping Ban in Florida?

Vaping deaths have been making international headlines as people of all ages continue dying from vaping related illnesses and conditions.

At Banyan Boca, we understand how dangerous vaping can be. The short and long-term effects of vaping can put a person’s health at risk, which is why many communities have enacted vaping bans. But what about Florida? We explore the truth about vaping bans in Florida and what the state is doing.

Florida’s Vaping Laws

There isn’t a full vaping ban in Florida like there is in other states. Florida doesn’t have a ban against the sale of vape products, but it does have a ban on where people can vape. Florida’s vaping laws were changed in July 2019 when a law took effect that bans vaping indoors at businesses. So, while there are no bans on the sale of vaping products, there are Florida vaping bans that restrict where users can vape.

Will There Be a Vaping Ban in Florida?

As more people develop lung damage from vaping, communities are looking into regulating vaping more and more. Some are looking into increasing the vaping age and others are considering banning it entirely. Vaping manufacturer Juul’s response to vaping dangers shows that even manufacturers are taking these dangers to heart. Many of the cases of vaping damage occurred with off-brand cartridges and marijuana vape cartridges, but vaping can also be dangerous with name-brand cartridges and pens.

More communities are beginning to ban vaping and Florida’s vaping laws may soon change to ban vaping altogether as many other communities have. Though the Sunshine State doesn’t ban sales of vaping products as of yet, local communities, cities, and counties may enact vaping regulations on their own. The continued increase of vaping injuries, deaths, and lung damage has national attention and concern.
