Telehealth Services at Banyan Chicago

At Banyan Treatment Centers Chicago, we understand how much has changed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The quarantine and social distancing recommendations that have been implemented have prevented many individuals from receiving care, such as addiction treatment, and have impacted their recovery in some way. Because these safety guidelines are necessary, our drug rehab in Naperville, IL, wanted to offer a form of treatment that allows patients to continue their recovery without having to commute or leave their homes. We’re proud to announce that we’re now offering telehealth services for addiction treatment at our Chicago facility to patients who are in one of our drug treatment programs.

What Is Telehealth Rehabilitation?

In telehealth, technology like smartphones, computers, laptops, and tablets are used to connect to healthcare providers and continue patients’ care without the need to commute or go to a facility in person. All patients need to utilize our online treatment programs is one of these devices and access to the internet or WiFi. Due to COVID-19, many patients are nervous about receiving treatment in person, and understandably so. In response, Banyan Treatment Centers has implemented telemedicine outpatient treatment for addiction to keep patients on track during recovery while adhering to COVID safety guidelines. As a drug rehab with long-term experience in treating substance abuse, we understand that consistency is key. For patients to remain consistent in their recovery, we’re granting them access to our care from the comfort and safety of their homes.

What Are the Benefits of Telehealth for Substance Abuse?

Telemedicine accessibility for people receiving substance abuse treatment removes the need for commuting and their physical participation at our facility. This program is a great way for recovering addicts to continue their programs without being affected by the anxiety of having to commute and attend in-person meetings during COVID.

Some other benefits of telehealth access to care to substance abuse include:

  • Patient privacy: We know that admitting your addiction and reaching out for help can be tricky. Some people may feel ashamed or embarrassed about their drug problems, feelings that are often fueled by the stigma behind these disorders. Our substance abuse rehab Chicago is rectifying this problem by offering telemedicine outpatient treatment options that allow patients to privately receive treatment for their substance use disorders.
  • Instant access to our team: Another benefit of utilizing telemedicine treatment for addiction is the nearly immediate access and direct line of contact to our team. Outpatient telemedicine makes setting up appointments and connecting with our staff quick and simple. We know that the decision to get help or continue treatment for substance abuse can be deterred by even the smallest of inconveniences. Our telehealth services offer a direct line of contact between patients and therapists that allows them to communicate quickly and effectively.
  • Flexible scheduling: Part of the hesitation in continuing treatment nowadays has a lot to do with schedules. Some patients prefer not to partake in physical sessions because they don’t or can’t leave their homes. We also have patients in our outpatient program or IOP who also have jobs and families to maintain, making it more difficult for them to commute and attend in-person sessions every week. By offering online services with our therapists, patients can continue their recovery while making as few changes to their schedules as possible.
  • Access to non-commuters: Commuting is also a common issue among people in addiction recovery. If the nearest rehab center is an hour or more away, this can discourage someone from receiving treatment. However, our telehealth services at Banyan Chicago remove the need for commuting and grants patients access to care from the comfort of their homes.

Our Telehealth Program for Addiction

Our virtual drug treatment in Chicago keeps patients in their programs and on the right track. Our virtual addiction treatment is offered to patients who are in one of our levels of addiction care. Telehealth outpatient treatment reduces the impact of the daily triggers that many patients face at home. These services also allow patients to remain at home, care for their families, and maintain their careers while continuously working towards their sobriety. Our telehealth rehabilitation for substance abuse includes three hours of treatment per day for three days a week. Patients and therapists will also schedule one hour of individual therapy to track their progress and make any necessary changes in their treatment.

For patients to qualify and participate in our telehealth program, they must have a device with internet access or WiFi. They must also have the ability to download Zoom, a free online video chatting app with which all sessions will be conducted. Patients must use devices like smartphones, tablets, laptops, or computers that have internet access and cameras and audio. Patients should always take therapy sessions in a setting away from others. These sessions are private, meaning that no one else in their household should be able to listen in on these sessions or participate in them.

But that’s not all. Our rehab center understands the importance of spiritual health in recovery, which is why we’ve also incorporated Faith in Recovery group sessions in our telehealth program. Our telehealth services for substance abuse include faith-based therapy sessions in which patients can develop self-awareness and experience spiritual growth. During Faith in Recovery group sessions, clients will learn practical relapse prevention skills and gain a faith-based perspective on recovery that can help them manage challenges like cravings, stress, anger, and more.

We understand that having a purpose in recovery is also important, which is why we assist our patients in developing or restoring their relationships with God and learning His purpose for their lives. During group sessions, our Chaplain will also go over areas including forgiveness, relapse prevention, gratitude, patience, guilt, shame, self-control, and any other issues that patients may ask about. While our FIR groups are Christian-based, individuals of all religious or faith backgrounds are welcome to join us.

Our telehealth services are some of the many addiction treatment options we offer at our Chicago rehab. To learn more about our telehealth treatment and drug and alcohol treatment, contact us today.
