Speaking to Dave Franco for Interview Magazine about his past addiction, Colson Baker, better known as Machine Gun Kelly, stated he’s seeking therapy for drug abuse.
Since he is in the beginning stages of therapy, he does feel impatient at times, but he stays motivated and committed to sustaining his sobriety. The rapper hasn’t been shy about his past substance abuse and mental health struggles, which he often mentions in his music. Machine Gun Kelly admitted to being addicted to Adderall and was not only taking it orally, but snorting it as well.

Though he is in the early phases of his therapy for drug abuse, he says, “the tools that I’ve been given to start with seem helpful.” He went on to say, “The willingness to finally be happy with my own self has invited a much more vibrant energy around [the people around me] than before.”Change doesn’t happen overnight. You have to take it one day at a time, especially when finding yourself in addiction recovery. We are so happy that Machine Gun Kelly is seeking therapy for drug abuse and is being so open about his recovery journey. Early recovery isn’t always easy, but as long as you stay positive, focus on your sobriety, take care of your mental health, and have a good support system, you can stay on track.
