As we close out 2017, we are hopeful to embrace a new year with added resources for those struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. Banyan Treatment Center stands as a leader in providing drug and alcohol addiction and mental health services nationwide. Now, Banyan will expand their drug and alcohol treatment services into the Philadelphia metro area by offering a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
Banyan’s expansion comes in response to a dire need within our communities as America’s Opioid Epidemic reaches epic proportions. Resources are needed now more than ever. According to the Centers for Disease Control (www.cdc.gov), the state of Pennsylvania has seen a significant increase in the number of drug and opioid-related overdose deaths with a 20.1% spike from 2014-2015. In 2015, more than six out of ten overdose deaths resulted from opioids. From 1999 to 2015, the amount of prescription opioids dispensed in the United States nearly quadrupled, and the need for opiate addiction treatment has increased greatly.
Banyan’s mission is simple: to provide the best, quality care as patients receive full-time treatment and 24-hour support. Each patient has an individualized custom treatment plan that is unique to their needs. Therapy sessions and groups are held daily, and patients meet with their therapists individually on a weekly basis. The average length of stay for the PHP program is typically 30-45+ days. Prior to admission, assessments are performed for all incoming patients to determine if the PHP level of care is appropriate for them based on their clinical needs.
