A Message from our Chaplain
For those of you who are not familiar with him, Anthony Acampora is the Christian Program Director and Chaplain with Banyan Treatment Center. He is an ordained minister with ministry experience including Chaplain Community Liaison, Director of Ministries, Director of Community Outreach, and Biblical Counselor.
Anthony has ministered to over 3,600 individuals suffering with mental health issues, the homeless, substance abusers, youths and inmates. His areas of ministry have been concentrated in recovery facilities, hospital psychiatric units, behavioral units, and prisons. He is the author of "The Impact Seasonal Devotional Series" 'Adding Fuel to you Faith'. In 2014 he was the Public Citizen of the Year awarded by the National Association of Social Workers- Broward County and in 2015 he was the Volunteer Recognition Recipient awarded by National Alliance of Mental Illness - Broward County.
Anthony has been interviewed on numerous radio shows and has successfully completed specialized training with the International Conference of Police Chaplains (ICPC) - Core Courses, the Ministry Training Institute and the ' In the Wildflowers' Trauma series. He is the Facilitator of the Biblical Anger Resolution Seminars in South Florida prisons and is the current Coordinator of the Faith-Net Programs with the National Alliance of Mental Illness –NAM “It is such a blessing to be a part of a company where the CEO, COO and CFO have a heart for Faith based programming. As someone who has experienced addiction and tremendous suffering I am blessed to have the opportunity to use my experiences to try and prevent future suffering with our clients.
In addition to focusing on clients addiction we target the root causes and use an approach of meeting clients where they are in life's journey and building them up without judgement. We know that God does not waste any suffering and wants to turn a mess into our message. When clients complete treatment we encourage and connect them with opportunities to continue to help others and serve God in various capacities.”
