At our Palm Springs drug rehab, we understand that addiction varies depending on the substance itself as well as the severity of drug or alcohol use. Everyone experiences substance abuse differently. While some people may have visibly hit rock bottom, others may appear fine on the outside (otherwise referred to as high-functioning addicts). Because of these discrepancies, not everyone will require the same form of care as others. To account for these differences, Banyan Palm Springs offers various levels of addiction treatment based on the individual needs of the patient and their recovery journey.
Our Levels of Care for Substance Abuse
Addiction treatment has been broken down into multiple levels, otherwise referred to as the addiction continuum of care, to provide more individualized care for people with drug and alcohol use disorders. As we previously mentioned, addiction affects everyone differently, meaning that some people may have more severe substance use disorders than others. In other words, both kinds of individuals would require different intensities of treatment, thus, various levels of addiction treatment.
Our Southern California rehab offers select levels of substance abuse treatment, including medical detox, residential treatment, and partial hospitalization treatment, allowing us to treat a variety of clients and help them achieve sobriety. Below is more on our treatment options and how they can support you or a loved one through recovery.
Medically Assisted Detox
Medical detox is designed for individuals with severe substance use disorders who require medical stabilization before they can move forward in rehab. In most cases, these clients are experiencing withdrawal symptoms due to physical dependency. In a drug or alcohol detox program, these individuals receive 24-hour care, drug detox medications to support physical recovery, and counseling to support mental and emotional recovery.
Care at our California detox center is normally the first stage of addiction treatment, as it addresses withdrawals and cravings that would otherwise deter the individual from their goals and make rehabilitation more difficult to sustain. Withdrawals can also be dangerous when it comes to certain substances, so it is important that individuals with substance use disorders receive medical support to avoid complications.
After detoxification is complete and the individual is considered to be medically stable, it’s necessary for patients to examine the underlying causes of their addictions. Residential addiction treatment is an addiction level of care that requires patients to live in-house for the duration of their program. This separates them from any distractions or temptations that may exist in their everyday home lives.
Also referred to as inpatient facilities, the care offered at residential addiction treatment centers varies in duration depending on the person’s needs, but they usually range from 30 to 90 days. Typically, days are scheduled with activities, therapy sessions, and medical care.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Partial hospitalization programs are a step down from residential treatment, as they offer less intensive care and do not require patients to live at our facility. These programs are designed for short-term treatment and last about 2 to 3 weeks. A typical day in a PHP includes individual and group therapy, psychoeducation, skill-building practice, and periodic evaluations to keep track of clients’ progress.
Family therapy may also be offered during PHP treatment to help patients build a support system. Our Palm Springs rehab also offers numerous addiction therapy programs, including evidence-based treatments like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to further support emotional and psychological recovery from drug and alcohol abuse.
Our Drug Addiction Help In California
In addition to offering addiction treatment levels of care, our facility also offers substance-specific rehab programs that provide individualized care to patients according to the substances they are addicted to. These include treatment for alcohol abuse, benzo abuse, cocaine abuse, and more. Our medical detox is also individualized in this way, ensuring that withdrawal treatment is provided to clients with all types of addictions.
