Veterans in Recovery Program at Banyan Palm Springs

Banyan Treatment Centers Palm Springs is a safe and comfortable treatment center in California. As a rehab center, we understand the scope of addiction, especially when it comes to veterans. Service members often experience much trauma in their work field. This trauma often leads to mental illness and substance abuse. Many veterans who struggle to cope with the emotional aftermath of their deployment take up drug and alcohol abuse in an attempt to self-medicate. However, these substances only offer a temporary release from reality and usually worsen any physical and mental symptoms. Over time, addiction can deteriorate a person’s health and life. Because this disease is prevalent among service members, we created Veterans in Recovery, a rehab program for veterans.

Why Veterans in Recovery?

More than 2 out of every 10 veterans suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and a substance abuse disorder.1 Many service members experience traumatic events while deployed. Veterans who were in the midst of war and conflict often find themselves struggling mentally. It can be difficult to imagine the distress these individuals face on a daily basis in their line of work. Our inpatient rehab in Palm Springs wanted to create an individualized program that offers comprehensive addiction treatment for veterans. We wanted to also dedicate our efforts to the men and women who have fought for our country to get the help they need to recover and lead healthy lives. Addiction is a debilitating and dark disease that can leave a person physically and mentally broken down. Our Veterans in Recovery rehab program in Palm Springs is opening its doors and extending help to those in need.

Benefits of Our Veterans in Recovery Program

Treating addiction in veterans requires comprehensive treatment. Substance abuse disorders have many faces and it’s important to address each one. Addiction treatment can be difficult for many patients, and that’s why a comfortable and safe environment is best.

Veterans in Recovery at Banyan Treatment Centers Palm Springs offers a variety of unique benefits including:

  • A safe and comfortable environment where patients can recover without outside distractions
  • One-on-one addiction treatment services
  • Individual and group sessions with licensed therapists
  • Life skills training and help for reintegrating back into society
  • Healthy coping mechanisms training
  • Supervised outdoor activities and outings
  • & More

Our substance abuse treatment for veterans is centered on helping them learn how to cope with their emotions and thoughts all while treating their addictions. This disease is of both the mind and body, so a service member struggling with substance abuse should receive the best care possible.

Addiction Treatment Included in Our Veterans in Recovery Program

Medically Monitored Detox

Most patients at our addiction treatment center in Palm Springs will begin their treatment with our residential detox. This form of detox requires patients to live onsite so they can receive 24-hour care and supervision during the withdrawal process. Most individuals who seek out drug or alcohol addiction treatment struggle with withdrawal symptoms when they try to quit. Although these symptoms are common, they can be highly dangerous without medical assistance.

We also offer several substance-specific detox programs, such as:

  • Alcohol Detox
  • Benzo Detox
  • Cocaine Detox
  • Meth Detox
  • Opiate Detox
  • Prescription Pill Detox

Inpatient Care

Our residential treatment program at Banyan Palm Springs is a form of inpatient drug treatment. Similar to our residential detox, patients in this program are required to live onsite. Those who suffer from severe or long-term addictions can benefit the most from this form of care. Our residential program separates patients from their daily environments where temptations are common, allowing them to focus on their recovery without distractions.

Outpatient Care

Our PHP is a form of outpatient treatment we offer in Veterans in Recovery. This form of care is usually the next step after our residential program. The PHP allows patients to recover from their addictions while learning how to slowly transition back to their daily routines. This program incorporates individual and group therapy sessions to offer peer support and help patients stay motivated in recovery

Substance Abuse Programs

Not only do we offer various levels of care, but we also offer different treatments for specific substance abuse disorders. Each substance causes its own set of symptoms and we believe that comprehensive treatment is the best way to treat these disorders.

The substance abuse programs we offer in Veterans in Recovery at Banyan Palm Springs include:

  • Alcohol Addiction Treatment
  • Benzo Addiction Treatment
  • Heroin Addiction Treatment
  • Meth Addiction Treatment
  • & More

We’re constantly expanding our efforts to incorporate new treatment programs and forms of care.

Treatment for Dual Diagnosis

Because many veterans suffer from mental illness as well as addiction, we also offer dual diagnosis treatment in our Veterans in Recovery rehab program. A dual diagnosis is when a person suffers from both a mental disorder and substance abuse disorder. These conditions are often intertwined, especially in service members. Veterans commonly struggle with PTSD and they may turn to drugs and alcohol in an attempt to mitigate their symptoms. Our treatment for co-occurring disorders addresses the mental disorder and addiction separately to ensure that no detail is missed.

At Banyan Treatment Centers Palm Springs, we’re dedicated to helping the men and women who have found for our country get the addiction treatment they need. If you or someone you know is a veteran struggling with a substance abuse disorder, contact us today to find out more about our facility and rehab program for service members.
