What is an intensive outpatient program, and how can it help me in my course of drug treatment? Intensive outpatient programs can be a great fit for people who want two things:
- A lot of help and support in their journey toward recovery
- A degree of freedom
Intensive outpatient means that you don’t spend the night in the drug treatment center. You don’t check in as you would for inpatient treatment. Just like in other forms of outpatient recovery, you continue living in your own house, commuting to the treatment center on a regular basis to go through therapeutic processes. Unlike standard outpatient treatment, intensive outpatient treatment means that you will have more frequent and longer meetings. Click here to read one person’s story of choosing recovery.
