Intensive Outpatient Treatment at Banyan Heartland

Banyan Treatment Center’s Heartland location now offers an off-site intensive outpatient program for addiction that provides continued care and recovery support. Just a short drive from our licensed Gilman residential facility, our off-site IOP in Naperville, IL, serves as a step down from our other higher levels of care, such as our inpatient and partial hospitalization programming. During this phase of treatment, patients will focus on re-entering their community while strengthening their recovery skills and progressing through the rehab process.

What to Expect From Treatment With Our Illinois IOP

The consequences of addiction may transpire over years, or even decades, of continued drug and alcohol abuse. Because substance abuse is often a long-term problem, it also requires a long-term solution. Recovery is an ongoing process that requires dedication and effort every step of the way.

The intensive outpatient program is designed to help patients focus on their progress and maintain their sobriety as they integrate back into society. In a safe and comfortable setting, patients will participate in therapy for a minimum of 9 hours a week with trained staff members who are specialists in their respective fields. While our IOP programs offer all of the same therapeutic services as other treatment levels, patients are afforded more flexibility to begin branching out and reestablishing themselves in their community.

The intensive outpatient services and programming at our off-site location will focus on:

  • Relapse prevention
  • Fostering healthy relationships
  • Coping techniques for future cravings
  • Stress management
  • Holistic therapies
  • Family therapy
  • Life skills i.e., resume building, creating a budget, etc.

These programs include both group therapy and individual sessions with their outpatient therapist. Additionally, psychiatric care and medical services are offered if needed. With a small staff-to-patient ratio, patients at our Illinois drug rehab can receive the personalized attention they need to continue to progress in their recovery journey. When patients are not participating in IOP therapy, they are free to attend 12-step meetings, volunteer, and seek employment.

Intensive Outpatient Programs for Co-Occurring Disorders in Illinois

An individualized treatment program that addresses all needs and goals is the best way to ensure successful recovery for those suffering from a co-occurring disorder. At our Heartland treatment center, we have a fully trained clinical staff who are experts in recovery treatment for patients suffering from co-occurring disorders. Our intensive dual-diagnosis treatment programs are designed to address both mental health disorders and substance abuse disorders concurrently. Patients can fully recover from both illnesses and live a new lifestyle.

Some of the co-occurring disorders that Banyan treats include:

  • Depression and Substance Use Disorder
  • Anxiety and Substance Use Disorder
  • Bipolar Disorder and Substance Use Disorder

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Substance Use Disorder

IOP addiction treatment for co-occurring disorders can successfully treat any dual diagnosis that is present through unique therapy methods used at Banyan Treatment Center. Someone struggling with more than one disorder at the same time can feel that there is no hope for recovery when the symptoms seem too much to handle. This is not the case, and you can truly recover from a co-occurring disorder with professional care.

Benefits of IOP Addiction Treatment

Our intensive outpatient program provides valuable benefits that can accentuate a patient’s healing process in amazing ways.

IOP benefits include:

  • An opportunity to practice self-reliance and personal responsibility.
  • Greater flexibility to attend to other commitments.
  • More privacy for the patient participating.
  • The development of support networks.

The benefit of a support network is particularly important when considering the impact that community can have on a person’s sobriety. These networks are the relationships that patients can lean on when they feel threatened in their recovery. It is a community founded through shared struggles and experiences and can help a person stay on track when they feel themselves starting to falter.

Maintaining Recovery After IOP Treatment

At Banyan, it is our belief that addiction is not a one-size-fits-all disease. Addiction affects everyone differently, so our treatment model has been designed to address the individual needs of the patient and to guide them through every step of the recovery journey.

Our Illinois intensive outpatient program is intended to prepare patients for everyday life once they leave treatment, but making the transition from rehab to home can be quite overwhelming, especially in the earlier stages of recovery. Just because someone has made the decision to get sober does not mean that life will no longer have its trials and tribulations.

To help support patients after their IOP program has ended, we offer a rehab alumni program that connects all of our successful patients to create a community of support for current patients to rely on in recovery. Through this program, we also continue to provide our former patients with resources to help them in their recovery as they strive for lasting sobriety.

At our Heartland drug treatment, we want our patients to be successful. To help patients with their recovery journeys, our off-site intensive outpatient program for addiction can help bridge the gap between treatment and the real world. If you or a loved one is ready to get sober, contact us today.
