Ancillary Programs at Banyan Chicago
Banyan Treatment Centers Chicago believes that one form of addiction treatment isn’t meant for everyone. Because everyone is different, their experiences with substance abuse will also vary. Not only may substances differ, the physical and psychological aspects of addiction also vary. Although addiction doesn’t discriminate, its effects and the underlying problems surrounding this disease are unique for everyone. As such, substance abuse treatment should be tailored to meet the needs of the individual. It should address both the psychological and physical aspects of addiction while teaching patients how to sustain sobriety after rehab.
The expert clinicians on our team at Banyan Chicago utilize a variety of therapeutic methods throughout treatment, ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality of care possible. Some of our clinical approaches to treating substance abuse disorders include dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, dual diagnosis treatment, and more. These methods are used alongside more traditional forms of addiction therapy like the 12-Step Program and SMART Recovery.
In conjunction with other forms of behavioral health treatment, our drug and alcohol treatment center in Chicago provides different ancillary programs and holistic therapies, providing Banyan patients with a comfortable, safe, and effective treatment experience. Our ancillary programs in Illinois have been beneficial to many individuals seeking addiction treatment, helping them learn how to better cope with addiction triggers and preparing them for life outside of rehab.
Learn More About Our Ancillary Programs in Illinois
Ancillary programs in rehab are additional therapies and treatments that are meant to support patients’ progress through their substance-specific treatments. We recognize that addictions and co-occurring disorders are the byproducts of a much bigger issue. Our rehab in Chicago prides itself in offering holistic therapies and ancillary options that are individualized to focus on the complexities of these diseases according to the individual. Below are the various ancillary programs for addiction treatment offered at Banyan Treatment Centers Chicago.
Art & Music Therapy
Both music and art therapy are shown to assist in the addiction recovery process. Individuals who suffer from substance abuse disorders are offered these therapies at our rehab center to help them healthily express their emotions and thoughts. Our team incorporates these modalities in an effort to help patients better understand their emotions and how they relate to their drug or alcohol abuse. Art and music therapy can help reduce stress, alleviate symptoms of anxiety, build motivation, and promote creativity.
Another innovative treatment approach offered at our rehabilitation center is biofeedback. Our biofeedback therapy induces a meditative state through the use of vibration, guided imagery, and sound therapy. It’s proved to help alleviate symptoms related to stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR therapy is a natural therapeutic technique that helps individuals heal from the effects of trauma and emotional challenges. In addition to co-occurring disorder treatment and rehab programs, EMDR has been shown to be effective in alleviating the emotional repercussions of trauma. This is an eight-phase treatment in which clinicians promote natural healing processes in the patient’s mind through the use of eye movements and other protocols.
Yoga plays a significant role in addiction recovery. By using yoga in tandem with our other substance abuse treatment programs in Naperville, we teach patients about the importance of improving physical health in recovery. Exercise, in general, has also proven to be effective in addiction recovery because it naturally stimulates the release of dopamine and promotes physical health. Patients who practice yoga during treatment can expect to experience increased energy, respiratory health, increased physical endurance, improved cardio, increased physical strength, and decreased stress and anxiety.
In an effort to provide patients with the most structured and flexible form of addiction treatment, Banyan Chicago offers a number of programs for addicts and their family members. If you or a loved one is struggling with a substance abuse disorder or co-occurring disorder, we can help.
