About Banyan Alaska: Anchorage Treatment Center

The banyan tree is one of the most beautiful and iconic trees in the world. Without support from other trees, the banyan tree becomes exposed and weak and fails to reach its full potential. This tree also provides a great metaphor for what our community looks like at Banyan Treatment Centers Alaska. As one of few addiction treatment centers in Alaska, our accredited rehabilitation services have been expanded to treat clients and their loved ones for substance use and mental health disorders. Alaska Drug Problems

In Alaska, 7,469 people (15.88%) of the state population died as a result of drug and alcohol abuse between 2008 and 2017. This figure is over 3% higher than the national average of 12.71%. Fairbanks had the lowest rate of substance-related deaths at 14.28%, while Juneau had the highest rate of substance-related deaths at 18.64%. Anchorage fell right in the middle at 16.32%.1

In 2021, police in Alaska seized numerous substances, including:2

  • Fentanyl: 612 grams
  • Heroin: 9,296 grams
  • Marijuana: 49,078 grams
  • Methamphetamine: 25,838
  • Cocaine: 6,320 grams

International drug trafficking organizations also gravitate towards Alaska’s drug market. Drug trafficking organizations exploit Alaska’s hub locations to access remote areas, high demand for substances, and limited law enforcement resources in remote areas. Methamphetamine, opioids, and cocaine are the most commonly abused and dangerous drugs in Alaska.2

Our Alaska Treatment Center Welcomes All

Community and collaboration are the core principles at all Banyan addiction treatment facilities. We understand that all communities are different, and the Anchorage community is especially unique. Not only are our levels of addiction treatment individualized to each patient’s needs, but we also consider the customs and traditions of Alaskan natives to ensure clients feel comfortable at our facility.

Our Banyan Alaska rehab carries proud accreditations and affiliations that illustrate our expertise. In addition to being a Joint Commission Accredited treatment provider, we have facilities within the Substance Treatment and Recovery (STAR) Network, the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers, and we are verified by Psychology Today for our leadership in substance abuse treatment.

Additionally, to offer the best level of care to our patients, our staff is composed of doctors, nurses, master’s level therapists, and behavioral health technicians with years of experience. We are equipped to treat Alaska natives for different forms of substance use disorders and support them as they transition from our Alaska rehab to sober life.

Banyan’s Drug Addiction Treatment in Alaska

To ensure that all patients receive the care they require, our team always conducts a clinical assessment. This assessment helps us better understand the severity of the individual’s condition and asks questions about their medical history, family history of addiction, type of substance use, symptoms, and more.

Our Anchorage rehab offers various forms of addiction treatment, including:

  • Alcohol Treatment
  • Benzodiazepine Treatment
  • Cocaine Treatment
  • Heroin Treatment
  • Methamphetamine Treatment
  • Opioid Treatment
  • Prescription Drug Treatment

In addition to substance-specific rehab programs, our facility also offers a variety of psychotherapy programs to support mental recovery. Addiction is both physical and psychological, so we believe in not only targeting physical issues like withdrawals and cravings but also addressing the root behaviors and emotions that have contributed to the individual’s substance use.

We also provide addiction treatment for Veterans at our facility. All of our programs are held on an outpatient level of care, which allows clients to focus on their recovery while still being able to spend time with loved ones, continue to work, and/or go to school.

If you or someone you care about is battling addiction, our Anchorage comprehensive treatment center is here to help. Contact Banyan Treatment Centers today to learn more about Banyan Alaska and our addiction services.
