What to Expect

Getting Started With Banyan Telehealth

After your intake is complete, here's exactly what happens next — no guesswork about logins, calls, or how to join your first session.

Welcome Email

Right after intake is complete, you'll get a welcome email introducing your care team by name — your care coordinator and your therapist.

Welcome Call

After that, you'll receive a welcome call from both your care coordinator and your therapist to walk through your schedule and answer any early questions.

The KIPU Portal

Your sessions run through the KIPU portal — the same one you were set up on during intake. No separate download or new account. Sign in here.

Session Reminders

You'll get a reminder by text and email one hour before each session. Each reminder includes a HIPAA-compliant Zoom link — generated new every session, so always use the link in that day's reminder.

Your Weekly Schedule

What Your Week Looks Like

Your program is built around four core pillars. The more consistently you show up for each one, the more you'll get out of your time in treatment.

Group Therapy

Live, therapist-led group sessions for 3 hours a day, Monday–Thursday. Attend as many weekday groups as possible. If you miss three or more weekdays, weekend group links (Friday–Sunday) are available. Your goal: at least 3 sessions per week.

Individual Therapy

One private session per week with your core therapist. This is your time to go deeper on personal goals, process what comes up in group, and get individualized support. Your therapist will work with you to schedule it.

Care Coordination

Your Care Coordinator checks in regularly, helps with scheduling and resources, and is available whenever you need additional support. They're your go-to for anything that falls outside your therapy sessions.

Medication Management

If you need medication support, a psychiatric provider is available for evaluations and adjustments. To schedule, contact Hunter, our Medication Management Scheduler: 561-356-9947.

Your Treatment Space Join from a private, quiet location · Keep your camera on throughout group · Put your phone away and minimize distractions · Arrive on time, every time.
What's Already Included

Services & Support You Already Have Access To

Many clients don't realize how much is included. Everything below is available to you — just ask your care coordinator.

Core Clinical Services

Group therapy 7 days a week, individual counseling, medication management, and care coordination & discharge planning — all starting from day one, not the last week.

Specialized Tracks

Substance use, mental health, co-occurring, Christian-Based Track (faith-integrated), HerSpace (women-only), and HisSpace (men-only). Ask your care coordinator about switching into one.

Family & Alumni Support

Weekly family-only support groups your loved ones can join for free, family counseling sessions with your therapist, and alumni services after you complete the program.

Not sure if something's included? Ask. Most of what's listed here is already part of your program — the only cost is a conversation with your care coordinator.

Banyan IOP Program Schedules by State

Our core Telehealth Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) runs Monday through Thursday, with additional group options available Friday through Sunday for added flexibility and support. Choose the three days that best fit your schedule.

Why Consistency Matters

Why It's Important to Attend Every Session

Attendance isn't a rule for its own sake — it's the thing that makes virtual care work as well as in-person care.

Your group counts on you

Group therapy only works if everyone can count on each other. Missing sessions changes the group for everyone, not just you.

Recovery is built through repetition

Skipping sessions creates gaps where old patterns can creep back in. Consistency is how the work compounds.

Your plan adjusts week to week

Your therapist adjusts your plan based on how you're doing. Missed sessions mean missed check-ins on your progress.

Your coverage may depend on it

Many insurance plans require minimum attendance to continue covering treatment. Consistent attendance protects your coverage.

Life happens. If something is going to make you miss a session, tell your care coordinator as early as you can — we'd much rather help you reschedule than have you disappear.
Planning Ahead

Approaching Discharge — Here's What to Do

Discharge planning starts on day one. Nothing at the end should come as a surprise — your therapist and care coordinator have been building your continuing care plan throughout treatment.

1. Start the conversation early

Talk to your therapist now about what continuing care could look like for you — don't wait for your last session to raise it.

2. Review your continuing care plan

Your care coordinator will walk you through your continuing care plan in detail before you finish the program.

3. Know who to contact next

If you're moving to a new provider, ask about signing a release so your new team has the full picture.

4. Stay connected

Ask your care coordinator about alumni groups and ongoing family support — recovery doesn't stop when the program does.

Questions about your discharge plan? Your therapist and care coordinator are your first calls. Depending on what's clinically recommended, discharge might mean stepping down to outpatient care, sober living, or ongoing medication management.
Your Questions, Answered

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I switch program tracks?

In many cases, yes. Talk to your therapist or care coordinator about switching into HerSpace, HisSpace, or the Christian-Based track. If the schedule doesn't work, we have groups all day and can find the best option — don't let scheduling be a barrier.

What if I have a technical issue?

Contact your care coordinator right away — they can troubleshoot the platform or help you rejoin by phone if needed. Technical hiccups don't count against your attendance if you let us know.

What if I need to miss a session?

Tell your therapist and care coordinator as far in advance as you can. We'll work with you on next steps. See the Attendance section above for why consistency matters.

Can my family be involved?

Yes. Your therapist can hold family sessions if you'd like your family included, and your family can also join their own free weekly support groups through the Family Hub.

Is everything I say in session confidential?

Yes. Your care is private and HIPAA-compliant. Your team can only share information with someone else, including family, if you've signed a release naming them.

What happens after I complete the IOP?

Your care coordinator builds a continuing care plan with you well before your last session. You'll also have access to Banyan's alumni community afterward — see the Discharge section above.

Who do I contact if I'm in crisis? Call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) anytime, 24/7. If you're in immediate danger, call 911. You can also reach your care team during business hours, or call Banyan admissions for a higher level of care: (844) 515-2098
