R&B Singer Lil Mo Reveals Struggles With Opioid Addiction

&B Singer Lil Mo Reveals Struggles With Opioid Addiction

Last week, Lil Mo took to Instagram to reveal that she had an opioid addiction.

The image she posted was just a black background with white text that read, “I never thought I could get off opioids!” In her caption, she wrote that she was taking over 30 pills, some of which included Adderall and Tramadol. The singer had said, “Spent sooooo much money paying other people bills just to be high and a functioning addict.” She went on to say that she thought it was okay because, “I’m famous. Famous people do drugs.”

Unfortunately, Lil Mo was in a physically abusive relationship and had to go to court where she was granted full protection from abuse. On top of that, rumors were going around that her estranged husband had cheated. The 41-year-old felt that she had hit rock bottom between that and her opioid addiction.  It wasn’t until the day where her life was so harshly threatened that she decided to get clean from the drug addiction.

Lil Mo’s Sobriety

Nine months ago, Lil Mo decided to turn her life around. She is happy to be entering 2020 drug free! She feels so at peace now and hopes that what she went through will be able to “help someone heal.” As a group of nationwide addiction treatment centers, we understand just how amazing an accomplishment it is that Lil Mo was able to get clean from her opioid addiction.

If you or someone you know is struggling with a prescription pill addiction or other substance abuse problem, there is hope. At Banyan Treatment Centers, we know that recovery is possible, and you do not need to do it alone. Our residential addiction treatment programs can offer 24/7 support for those who need it.  For those needed less guidance, an outpatient program for addiction may be a better option.
