Is Your Kid Hiding Drugs? Common Hiding Spots for Drugs

Teenagers are known to be moody, contentious, and want their privacy, but sometimes these behaviors can be a warning sign of something beyond just the struggles of puberty.

As a parent, it is natural to be worried about your child and to be one of the first to sense when something is off. If you suspect that something is wrong, you may be right. Where do Kids Hide Drugs?

If you child has started using drugs, it is likely that they are hiding them as well. Typical hiding places for drugs that teens use can range from everyday objects that have been hollowed out and are in plain sight to secret compartments hidden far back in the depths of their closet.

Classic hiding spots for teens to put drugs include:
  • Food packages and wrappers
  • Cans and canisters disguised as regular products
  • Highlighters
  • Inside wall vents
  • Hollowed out books
  • Personal hygiene or cosmetic products
  • Backpack
  • Dresser drawers
  • Toilet bowl
  • Inside game consoles

While teenagers are certainly not as experienced as drug cartels when it comes to stashing drugs, kids hiding drugs can get very creative. There are also plenty of places online to buy objects to stash drugs. If you do not find drugs in these hiding spots, it doesn’t necessarily mean that there aren’t any drugs. Other Clues Your Child is Hiding Drugs

Although you may not find drugs on your search, there are other ways to check your suspicions. Search the trash for signs of drug wrappers or packaging. Kids hiding drugs may not currently have any on hand, but if they are regular users, they will likely have a variety of drug paraphernalia hidden as well. If you suspect your child is using drugs, you may also want to check their search history for drug-related information.

Kids hiding drugs do so because they want to keep their drug use a secret. While many may simply fear getting in trouble, other kids hide drugs to keep their parents from finding out something worse.
