You probably know Noah Centineo as the Netflix rom-com heartthrob, starring in To All The Boy I’ve Loved Before or you might remember him as playing Jesus in Freeform’s TV series The Fosters.

At 23-years-old, his career has taken off tremendously, but before then, Noah Centineo struggled with substance abuse. In the past, Noah has opened up about his sobriety, saying that he has been sober since before his 21^st birthday, but now he is sharing what lead him to get sober.

Noah says that he would take Molly with his friends “to get to the bottom of some really deeply philosophical existential questions.”  Noah went on to say that he never injected anything, but he did do other drugs. “I smoked a lot of things. I was really upset, man. It was a really dark time in my life”, he says.

Noah Centineo’s Sobriety

  On using substances to try to mask his problems, Noah says, “You never get the result you’re looking for.” It is best to deal with your issues in a healthy way and be able to identify them without turning to substances to cope. Noah says he likes to partake in activities such as meditation, journaling, and yoga as a healthy coping mechanism.

Noah Centineo’s drug use and sobriety story is a good example of how people can pick themselves up after falling to drugs.
