Former “Mighty Ducks” Actor Shaun Weiss Arrested for Meth Use & Burglary

Former “Mighty Ducks” Actor Shaun Weiss Arrested for Meth Use & Burglary

You may remember Shaun Weiss who starred in the 90’s Mighty Ducks franchise as a child.

Unfortunately, the now 41-year-old was arrested this past weekend for burglary while also being under the influence of methamphetamine.

Reports say that a 911 call came in before 7 a.m. about a burglary at a private home and upon police arrival, they discovered Weiss in the garage, inside a vehicle. He was arrested right there. The police did mention that Weiss “displayed symptoms of being under the influence of methamphetamine”.

This isn’t the first time that Weiss was arrested. In 2017, Shaun spent 12 days in jail for petty theft, though he had been sentenced to 150. The short sentence was due to overcrowding. Two months after that, he was arrested for possession of meth. Then in 2018, Weiss had been arrested for public intoxication. After that arrest, Weiss stated on Facebook that he was going to get professional help. He ended the post writing, “I AM going to recover. I’m determined to return to my old self. My mind is set on health and well-being.” It is unclear why he left addiction rehab after only a few months, and because Weiss was arrested for meth use and burglary recently, it is clear that he stills needs help.

Recognizing Meth Use in Your Loved One

Methamphetamine is a highly addictive drug that affects a person’s brain, body, personality, and behavior. The more a person takes the drug, the more likely they are to become addicted as it alters the brain’s chemistry. If you suspect that your loved one could be abusing meth, look out for these symptoms of meth use before they run into legal problems like Shaun Weiss.

The most obvious way to determine that someone is abusing meth is probably by looking for the physical signs of meth use. Some physical meth symptoms and warning signs include:

  • Increased body temperature
  • Severe dental problems or “meth mouth”
  • Sores or scabs on the skin from itching from perceived meth mites
  • Drastic weight loss
  • Decrease in personal hygiene habits

We truly hope that Shaun is able to seek treatment for a meth addiction and get the help he needs.
