Charlie Sheen Discusses His Sobriety

Charlie Sheen Discusses His Sobriety

Over the past couple of years, Charlie Sheen has made headlines due to assaulting his wife, damaging a hotel suite, and his on and off drug use.

Since the early 90s, he’s gotten into a lot of legal trouble. He spent a month in rehab, charged for the assault of a girlfriend, had a near-fatal overdose, went back to rehab, had a restraining order against him, was arrested for a domestic violence dispute, and the list goes on and on.

In 2011, he had a public breakdown where he went on rants during his interviews and would talk badly about his coworkers. Then, in 2015, he admitted that he was HIV positive. After that, things started to change. Today, Charlie Sheen is on the growing list of celebrities who survived overdoses and got sober.

In December of 2017, Charlie decided it was time to get sober. “It just hit me that I knew it was time to make a change,” Sheen says. Now that he is almost a year and a half sober, he has been happier and living a completely different lifestyle. “It’s the biggest change for me,” he told PEOPLE.

Charlie says, “I don’t put myself in positions where dangerous things could happen. I just have a confidence and a focus, and a game plan and I stick to it.” Charlie is really focusing on his wellness. The 54-year-old spends time with his kids, exercises, and is working on some future projects.

Charlie Sheen has come a long way and we hope that he continues to stay on this path of sobriety. We are proud of him for making that lifestyle change and that he’s trying to become a better and healthier version of himself.
