If you came through our program at any time of your recovery journey we consider you Banyan Alumni.
We want to provide support and/or help you in whatever way we can. Whether you are an active alumni within our alumni program, or somebody who has lost touch along the way, we want to give you a little refresher course on how we can help and what we offer here at Banyan’s Alumni program!
1.) What is Banyan’s Alumni Program?
Banyan’s alumni program is designed to continue services and care to past patients who came through our program at any time in their recovery process. We provide follow up calls to check-in with former patients to see how their recovery process is going, provide encourage or motivating advice, or just simply hear about your progress, and of course if you are struggling we would point you in the right direction to the best of our ability. We can also be reached on Social media, by text, or phone call on our 24 hour alumni hotline! We are here to serve you and provide support in whatever best fits your needs. In addition to the constant contact, we also provide bi-weekly alumni meetings and monthly events. This is a time to reconnect with old friends, staff members, and share your journeys of recovery! We have alumni meetings every other Thursday at 6:30pm we provide food, fun, and fellowship, and at 7:00 pm an alumni of ours comes in and shares their recovery story with you! This can be beneficial no matter what stage of your recovery you are in. Whether you are an alumni with some time under your belt or you are just entering our alumni program and looking for some solid sober supports, Banyan’s alumni program can help you build that relationship!
2.) Why is Alumni important?
An Alumni program is important for a number of reasons! When you finish your treatment program here at banyan and receive your completion the support doesn’t stop there. We follow up with you 3 days after you leave treatment to make sure you are settling in fine. We want to make this transition as smooth as possible for you. You took a big step letting Banyan guide you in your treatment and recovery process. We want to make sure we continue to provide that support in whatever way we can. Alumni can help you bridge the gap between discovery (treatment) to recovery (fellowshipping and growing in your sobriety after treatment). If you look at any reputable facility across the U.S. all have a solid and strong Alumni program, that shows the program values their patients. Without you guys, Banyan doesn’t serve a purpose, it is of utmost importance that we continue to support and provide services to the people who make our program possible.
3.) How can you get involved?
There are many ways to get involved with alumni! Picking up the phone for follow up calls or following back up with us, even coming to see us in the Alumni office is appreciated! We want to know that you are doing well and progressing in life. You can reach us via phone, text, or social media, we want to hear about your progress we love success stories! In the field of substance abuse it can be tiresome and exhausting because it is such a chronic illness that we treat, when we hear from former patients who are doing well and growing in their recovery, it makes it all worth the while. Other ways are to get involved are to show up to our Alumni meetings or events! We need your support in those events and so do newer alumni who need to be shown a real live description of hope! By staying sober and moving forward in your recovery you provide hope and a working product of what we do here at Banyan. What could possibly be a better testimonial to our program then the people we treat who are staying sober? So, as equally as important as it is for you to get involved to build the foundation for your recovery, it also provides the hope that the next person may need to push through a low spot they may have ahead of them!4.) What do we provide?
We provide an array of services! First and foremost, being the constant contact with alumni and the round the clock availability to alumni who may need it. We reach out to you all via phone calls, texts, and social media, and remember this can work both ways, you can reach out to us at any time the same way! What about the person who goes home and realizes they forgot to get their completion letter for the judge or the letter to provide to family services to get their child back in their life? Those are commendable acts and we want to help with those. We can email or fax any information you may need after your stay here at Banyan if it’s going to benefit and increase the quality of life for you. You can call on your alumni for whatever you may need. Another tool we do our best to provide here at Banyan’s alumni program is the fact that we have a fellowship of former patients that can bond over not only their struggles and overcoming addiction but also their time here at Banyan relating over your time here!
